Good news...Bad news....

Well, I am going to be moving from my home to another. Bad news is, season starts in about a month and I have not been on the land to even begin scouting, so let me give a pre-season "sorry if I dont do well" to those I will be teamed with in the contest, but bet your azz I will do all I can to prep, no quit here.:pcwhack:
Good news is I will be heading to 80 acres of a combination of Cedar swamp, CRP, hardwoods, a creek and a river, with two openings, one small (1 acre or so), the other fairly large (4 acres or so) and a small pine stand or two, again I havent scouted just going by what I could see visually and on Google Earth. This is going to be quite the change from hunting fields with alfalfa, beans and corn but I believe it will pay off.

SO what I am looking for is some kind of different online map program to be able to better scout the area, Google Earth will show it but the "birds eye" stops working just across the street from my house:s6:

I plan on going and walking but I would like a "heads up" before I go out, I want to try and stay out as much as I can with the season almost upon us. Any suggestions?

If I get this info I would like to post the maps and get some feedback as I said, this terrain is new to me for hunting as I have only bowhunted the last two years that being where I am currently at.

So any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

sounds like a nice place. i can offer you one tip possibly. if you have a canoe/kayak/small jon boat from upstream you can use the river to get to your creek and if the creek is shallow enough use that as another access route. if the wind is right you'll leave virtually no scent. goodluck to ya!
