titanium rage broadheads

just wondering if anyone has seen the new titanium rage broadheads, i saw them in a cabelas catalog, they are $80:jaw:
the regular rages are expensive (i do use them) but come on 80 bucks

ryndisher 07-28-2010 04:26 PM

Funny they bump up the price when the others arnt worth half that.

Buffinator 07-28-2010 04:53 PM

The single fact that they are made of Titanium will instantly make anyone a better hunter. All you have to do is get close to the deer and they will kill it.

Kybuckhunter 07-28-2010 06:20 PM

People seem to associate high price with a good product. Just look at the price of most broadheads period. Most are now 10 to 15 each. At first a few were that high and now its the norm. It's the same with bows, sights, arrow rest and so on. I'll stick with my Muzzys and get 6 for the price of 3 other the others. So yes...I think it's getting out of hand but peole will pay it so they are going to charge it.

RackLuster 07-28-2010 06:25 PM

$80! that's some crazy stuff right there. never will i pay that for any kind of rage broadhead. in fact, if you paid me $80 i wouldn't use their broadheads anymore.

Kybuckhunter 07-29-2010 03:36 AM

The funny thing is my first bow fully set up only cost me 100 dollars....Now a pack of broadheads cost almost that much.....

BUCKINTHEWOODZ 07-29-2010 04:47 AM

For $80 they can keep them. Im not that impressed with the Rage broadheads. poor performance

country_guy9734 07-29-2010 06:46 AM

i will just make mine out of stone...... thats just crazy

shoot2thrill25 07-29-2010 06:56 AM

thats insane. especially for the lack of pass thru's you see from EVERYONE that uses them on tv. I shot one doe with them at 40 yards. I was filming it so I have proof. I hit her good, she did a mule kick and ran off. After waiting I went to go check my arrow, and the blades were still up and in the o-ring. I was sick to my stomach. I don't wanna sound like one of those haters who just don't like new technology and all that, (im a gear junkie) but that was too much of a failure for me to ever use one (or other mechanicals) again. sorry for the rant, im off my soap box now

Ya shot the blue one didn't ya?:):)

wvnimrod 07-29-2010 02:35 PM

As long as people are willing to spend that kinda money, they will continue to price them that way!
I have issues with the rage so they won't get any of my cash.
They seem to be a great broadhead, but I don't like the way they advertise,IMO they lead newbee's to think they will make up for poor shooting and shot placement! And I don't believe anything is as important as a good well placed shot!

Now I got heartburn reading that catalog

The prices almost put me into total retirement. Or would have if I hadn't taken care of the products I bought five, ten and some well over fifteen years old.
When I finished the catalog I immediately went to my storage of hunting clothes and items. All were in great shape. $185 there; $40 there; $129.99 here; $299 there, $159 here. On and on.

If I pass on, is my wife going to have a big Obama estate tax to pay?

IL-Cornfed 07-30-2010 09:06 AM

While the price is out"rage"ous.... the new slimmer, stronger design and improved blade tip design really is impressive!!! I'm betting most of you haven't even seen them.

I am seriously thinking about picking up some but I'll admit I hate to tell Rage that this kind of price jacking will be tolerated ?!?

.

Kybuckhunter 07-30-2010 11:36 AM

If they can kill a big buck more dead than my Muzzys then I will buy them. Otherwise I see them as a waste of money and nothing more than a way to pull in a sucker or two.... But that's just my opinion.

vermont bowhunter 07-30-2010 11:41 AM

travis did you recover the doe...i hate to see one go off and suffer.

OhioBowhunter 07-30-2010 12:33 PM

its insane, i mean i love rage after shooting my doe last year, yes i did by different broadheads this year but i will have 2 rages in my quiver but i will never pay for titaniums... i mean if they want to give me some for free and all i have to do is say, "RAGE" or something like that ill gladly tear up 100 grains of metal that costs 80$
