Broken.....

well guys I broke my collar bone 3 weeks ago on saturday. im hopin im ready by bow season guys. im worried about my shoulder being tender for season. see how it goes. wish me luck:sad0064:

That sucks. I broke my left wrist last year about this time and missed the entire bow season. Good luck, but I found out the hard way that I didn't heal up as fast as I used to.

bigcountry 07-27-2010 09:18 AM

Wow, a colar bone is a critical piece. I wouldn't rush it. Hope all turns out before the season.

Hunting Kuk 07-27-2010 10:17 AM

how'd you break it? and it'll be iffy

bigbucks98 07-27-2010 12:33 PM

fourwheeler accident. someone collided with me. the other guy wasnt paying attention. i had no where to go. he hit me from the front, i got launched 3 or 4 feet in the air landed on my shoulder

sorry to hear! Good luck I hope you make it back in time for season..I've nevr had a injury as bad as a broken collar bone so I'm not in a position to tell you whether your out or in?

BigDaddy12t 07-27-2010 01:50 PM

Good Luck on your recovery, hope it heals quickly.

Buffinator 07-27-2010 02:26 PM

Only time I ever hunted with a crossbow was when I had a messed up collarbone.

bigbucks98 07-27-2010 07:07 PM

thanks guyss. hope you all have a great season too!

MeanV2 07-28-2010 07:12 AM

Good Luck!! Injuries can be tough to deal with. I've been there done that.

Turn your poundage down as much as you can and go get'em!

i never broke mine and i might just take the season off, but my buddy here said his was busted, and he was ready to go in 7 weeks, but his went through the skin..so he is thinkin you'll be ok.

Sniggle 07-28-2010 07:27 AM

That sucks. If you need someone to sit in your stands and keep an eye out for big bucks this season, don't hesitate to ask;-)

reminds me of the time I fractured my left ankle while unloading my 4-wheeler outta the back of my truck one night. 4 wheeler flipped over the top of me and my ankle was the only thing that kept it off my head. Next morning tried to tough it out and hunt but when I finally hobbled to the base of my tree, I couln't climb my sticks.. I ended up leaving the woods in anger and frustration.. talk about a horrible feeling!
I hope like hell you can get out there bud, because I know how terrible it can feel. GL!

i know 2 people that died this same way....so consider it a 2nd chance. hope you figured out a different way to do it. i have seen a 4 wheeler to truck safety kit. was really cheap, considerin!

well i broke my right about 3 years ago about this time of year i said to my bro i was going out and we got out the mid rut and it wasnt pain full but it didnt feel good but you really cant say how long recovery will take it all depends on how well you body recovers itself

bigbucks98 08-01-2010 09:59 PM

i usually recover pretty fast. im feelin alot better. just a week and a half maybe two weeks i should be brand new. weve still got 4-5 weeks until season. im pumped i should be ready. thanks for all the care and concern guys. i really appreciate it. i hope you guys have a great season and go get that biggin this fall!!

Buffinator 08-02-2010 08:08 AM

When mine broke it was 2 nice jagged breaks in the middle, with a small chunk of loose bone between them. 6-7 weeks and I was out of a sling but it took awhile to work all the soreness out. Don't push yourself too hard. Even if it feels better you might want to consider backing the poundage on your bow down a little bit.
