Thanks Diesel77, that's a great way to deter the thieves. I went out this past weekend and bought another camera to replace the one that was stolen a couple weeks back. One of the main reasons I bought this certain camera is because it came with a camoflauged front. Don't worry, I put this camera somewhere where it'll be hard to find (a mile away...lol) Thanks again.

Even if its in a lock box, or a bear box, the vandals, criminals or scum bags know its obviously worth money and if they cant have it, then they usually came back with the right tools to get it, or do their best to destroy mine. In my cases the locks worked to deter the theif/theives, but it didnt prevent them from coming back which I learned the hard way. Cheapest theft prevention Ive found, make sure you camo that camera as good as possible! Even if you use straps, cover it. You'd be suprised how much less obvious a camera is to pick out when its all camo'd out. Black straps make it 10x worse. We made horizontal velcro strap covers out of our pattern, and although a camera dipped in our pattern is awesome, its too expensive for some. The tape is cheap and effective. No matter what camo you like or use, cover your stuff. And yes this is shameless self promotion but Im telling you, when camo or cover your cameras and any straps with any camo it will help prevent theft.

the value of the camera
the recession; some with more time and need trail cam people could hide their trail cam; the problem is with the good sized feeder and bunch of laying corn, they want to include in the picture. With a good payoff, it'll pay a poacher to carry in a backpack of tools. |
Diesel77.......Thanks for the great Idea.....Running to the store to get some tape before I place my new camera.....Hope this helps me hang on to my investment a couple of seasons.
