Looking for a good pair of rubber boots

My wife gave me the money to buy a pair of boots for Fathers Day. I've been looking at Muck Woody Max, Lacrosse, Cabelas Dura-trax and Comfort Trac, and the Rocky's. Anyone have any opinions or experience with these or any other brands of rubber boots? Thanks!

I have had LaCrosse and Muck boots, and would say defintely go with the Muck boots. May be the most comfortable shoes I own! Durable, and warm as well.

I'm the opposite of Bible Man.. I have both the Muck Boots Woody Max & a couple of pairs of different weight LaCrosse Alpha Burly Sport boots. I personally prefer the fit of the LaCrosse. The Muck Boots are good, but I would go with LaCrosse.

I hear great things about the comfort of Muck boots, but they are not durable and are susceptible to holes.

I have Lacrosse Burlys and like them. No holes as of yet in three+ seasons.

I got my first pair of Muck Boots last Fall and they are the most comfortable and warm boots that I have ever worn. My dad has had the same pair for four years now so they are definitely durable.

I've had several pairs of Lacrosse boots over the years and other than what I consider excessive sweating, I really can't say anything bad about them.

I got my first pair of Muck boots in 2007 and there's been no turning back. Mine are the Woody Max, they are light and extremely comfortable. I still wear Lacrosse for scouting, hanging stands, etc, but when it comes time to actually hunt, I reach for the Mucks.

Muck boots!

If your feet sweat like mine do I would avoid rubber boots like the plague. Rubber boots do not breathe the least little bit and when your feet get wet your feet get cold. I have one pair of rubber boots and I will never own another for hunting.

Used the MUCK Woody Max and Alpha Burly 800gr. I love my Lacrosse Alpha Burly's, warm in the winter and not too hot in the spring turkey hunts.

I used Muck boots last year and loved them.

Woody Max Muck Boots

kwilson16 06-19-2010 07:33 AM

I will be switching to Muck Woody Max's this year. My last pair of Lacrosse's barely lasted through a single season and cost $125. Lacrosse warranty dept was no help.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I ended up going with the Cabelas Dura-trax. I had a credit with them and a coupon for twenty bucks off plus the boots themselves were on sale. I fiqure if they don't work out, Cabelas will stand behind them. Besides, saved enough $$ to order some new arrows too! Thanks again for everyone's imput.
