RE: Speed vs Energy?

A certain bow makes " X" amount of energy period. Going from a finely tuned arrow at 10 grains per # to a finely tuned arrow at 5 grains per pound from the same bow, at the same draw weight and length you will usually see the heavier arrow sport 1-3 foot pounds more of KE.
Absolutely correct. The lighter arrow will have the same KE and a much flatter trajectory. You get the best of both worlds.

My setup is 72lbs heavey arrows 7595xts gets 288 fps.my bow is quiet but under 35yrds it does not matter at that speed. Whether I shoot muzzys or rockets I get pass troughs that what I try to acheive, it leaves 2 blood trailing holes if they go any where at all.

450240 or 450800? It depends on whether you use 32.16 fps^2 or round it off to 32.2 fps^2 as the gravitational constant in the calculation. Doesn' t amount to any major difference to the end result in the KE formula, at least for our purposes.

I just came up with a calculation for momentum on another forum & it' s kinda interesting. Arrow weight in grainsXfeet per second divided by 7000. Yields momentum supposedly. I don' t know if this is an official deal or BS, but it is interesting.

There are 7000 grains in 1 pound.
