Looking for new arrows.
Hello,
I am looking to purchase some new arrows. I have not had to buy arrows in a few years so I have not been keeping up with whats out there with new technology. I Shoot a Mathews Switchback at 62lbs. The arrow will be 29.5". I know it will be a 400 series but just wanted to find out what you guys have been shooting and what yall think about it. I just moved up here to Alaska and will be hunting moose and caribou with these so I kind of like the idea of the H.I.T. technology but please give me your opinion. Thanks. |
I have a similiar set up .switchback 58 lbs 28in draw and i shoot the carbon express maxima 250. very nice arrow. you might need to go to the 350 for a little more wieght but check the charts for the correct spine

It is hard to beat the Easton Axis' for a hunting arrow.

:hail: GOLD TIP XT HUNTER 75/95 ARROWS ALL THE WAY! I HAVE SEEN WAY TO MANY OF MY HUNTING TEAM MEMBERS USE EASTON ARROWS THAT BUST WAY TO EASY. CHECK THEM OUT..

I've used several different arrows for hunting, but I am not a huge fan of the HIT inserts. My favorites are as follows.
1. Carbon Express Maxima, Maxima Hunter, & Aramid 2. ACC Pro Hunters 3. Easton Flatline 4. Easton FMJ despite the HIT;) Dan |
Easton Axis Nano
|
PSE Radial X Weave "Black Mamba 400" They come with weight tubes for ALOT of KE.
That might just help a little punching through that big ol moose! |
Easton st epic nano-fused 70.00 a dozen with blazer vanes
nice arrows. |
I have been using GOLD TIP XT HUNTER arrows for 5 years now and they are a good choice.
I don't think I would try and find one arrow for moose and caribou. Too big of a difference in size and average shot distance. What ever you used for those dandy bucks should do for a caribou. I would definately use a 125 gr cut on contact BH. For the Moose I would just add weight tubes. KISS is alway a good idea |
I also use Gold Tip XT Hunter's in 7595. Good, tough arrows. I am very happy with they way they fly also. Would recommend them for sure. Not too expensive either. Work very well with my bow at 30" and 71#.
