Rubber boots vs Neoprene boots - scent control

I am looking to buy boots and I will most likely not be able to try them on because many are not sold in Alberta. Anyway I have read to wear rubber boots when hunting (as mentioned in other threads) to prevent leaving scent. I assume this is for two reasons: so your scent does not penetrate boot and since external odors do not bond to rubber boots easily.

Now with most of these new hiking-style rubber boots being more of a neoprene boot with a waterproof layer underneith, do they have issues with scent bonding to the outside of the boot since it is no longer smooth rubber?

now as far as human scent sticking to the outside, it doesnt matter, cause only half of the scent can be wiped off...even rubber. the trick now is to use the boot spray to keep what scent is on the outside of the boot stuck to it, instead of it fallin off on the walk in.

Is there a rubber or neoprene boot that breathes?
