Broadheads
What does everyone here prefer? I currently use Thunderhead 85' s, but am considering either Muzzy 3 blade 100' s or Magnus 2 blade 100' s.

RE: Broadheads
I think you will be pleased with the muzzy. I use Magnus a lot, but prefer their non-vented blades. I don' t think you can get them in the 100 grain, but you can in the 125 grain.

RE: Broadheads
Those 85 grn TH' s are some super heads. I have taken many nice deer with them.
I also like the Muzzy heads. Can' t go wrong with either:) |
RE: Broadheads
I used to use muzzy 4 blade heads a while back. They are super heads. Now I use strictly Magnus 2 blade, 125 grain. Excellent heads. If you are interested in a 2 blade, 100 grain head, look at the Magnus stinger' s.

RE: Broadheads
I use Wasp Hightech Hammer 75 grn. They' re great. They tune real nice and I haven' t had a track job take more than 100 yds. Shot placement had alot to do with it, but I don' t remember using a tougher head! I have shot many different ones and find them most to my liking. although the Muzzy' s were good too.

RE: Broadheads
Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain

RE: Broadheads
I' ve been using Muzzy' s for so long I' d almost forgotten there were other brands.
Used 90gr 4 blades last year, switching to 100gr 4 blades this year. I' ve never had a problem tuning them and they do an outstanding job. See last years results below. |
RE: Broadheads
i will have to check who makes them but i am going to give the jackhammers a try this year. They are an expandable 3 blader with a 3 1/2" cutting dia.
|
RE: Broadheads
Been using 3 blade 100 grain Muzzy' s the past 3 years and they have been great. In the past used TH, Magnus and Wasp SST' s all are good heads. I am going to try some of the 100 gr. Magnus stingers this summer, as I have only used the 125gr version, just to see how they fly out of my new setup.

RE: Broadheads
I haven' t lost a buck since I switched to Rocket Steelheads 125gr(knock On Wood:)) But I like to switch things up every now and then....I' ve been considering Rocket Sidewinders...altho they haven' t came out with the 125s

RE: Broadheads
I currently use Thunderhead 100' s but this season will be switching to Shockwave' s. Mike,-

RE: Broadheads
85 grain Thunderhead for me.
|
RE: Broadheads
I have had good results useing the Sattelite Straight Razors 100 grain and the Steelforce Sabertooths 100 grain( although I have noticed the Steelforce heads make a noticeable hissing noise while in flight).
I am now strickly a Muzzy Shooter. I have used the Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain and liked them. I now shoot the Muzzy Realtree 4 Blade 100 grain. I have had awesome results with the 4 blade and no problems tuning them and they fly the same as my field points, gonna try the new ones for women next, GET IN SYNC WITH PINK. |
RE: Broadheads
Zwickeys.

RE: Broadheads
Muzzy 3 blade 125 gr, have also used thunderhead 125' s and rocky mountain ironhead 125' s. I prefer the muzzy over the other two because of the blade retention system.
|
RE: Broadheads
125 Thunderheads for me. They fly well and kill. I couldn' t get the Muzzy to fly as well in my bow and I tried 3 different ones. They were probably acceptable but they weren' t with the Thunderheads for me. Others have stated the opposite. Whatever works!;)

RE: Broadheads
Magnus Snuffers for me,,used Magnus 125' s or Bear Razorheads(w/o the insert) for years(& killed many a deer with em)until I tried Snuffers last year..Hit em right & the ground looks like somebody turned on the " Bloody" faucet..For turkeys I swith to Xpandables with the largest cutting diameter I can find..

RE: Broadheads
Muzzy 3-blade 100 gr ' s
|
RE: Broadheads
75gr Muzzy, 75gr Wasp and 75gr Rocket Wolverines. All have performed great.
|
RE: Broadheads
I prefer gold tip Gladiators 100 gr then muzzy 3 blade 100' s.... looking to try Montec g-5 100' s to see how they well they do...[8D]

RE: Broadheads
I have used Muzzies for over 10 years and had excellent results. But, I' m a man who prefers simplicity in my archery gear and last year I purchased the new, one-piece, Monotec. IT IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. Cut on impact tips and razor sharp blades. I was able to tune my arrows and broadheads in minutes. I killed two whitetail deer (pass thru), two pigs (Both pass thru' s) and a Fallow Deer (pass thru) during the 2002 season all with the Monotec. The greatest thing is that I can pull out my ole trusty Crock sticks and sharpen to shaving sharpness and put them back in my quiver. Give them a try!

RE: Broadheads
I used Montec' s last year and loved them. One elk and one deer so far. Me and my buddy plan to get some Oklahoma pigs in a week with them. I' ve used T-heads and Muzzy' s and have no complaints about them but the montecs fly great i can sharpen and reuse them easier and if you' ve ever taken a piece of rug or leather or some tough denim and run it over a COI head mounted on an arrow compared to a trocar or chisel tip head, its pretty hard not to be won over with COI, especially with a strong tip like a snuffer or montec will give you.
