RE: 5SHOT mech??
I think I know of which head you are talking about, but I have not tested them yet. I do have a vortex head to test. It has a 2" cut. I am also supposed to be getting some brand new vortex heads for testing, as soon as they are in production. I will see what I can do about getting a sample to test, but If I remember correctly I realy didn't like the way the blades opend on the sonoran heads.

RE: 5SHOT mech??
Hey 5-Shot,
About 3or4 years ago a friend of mine from arizona gave me a dozen vortex broadheads. I shot several deer with them the first season that I had them. I don't think that they are very durable with the design that I was using. 100 grain 3 blade. I also felt that they were a little bit hard to put together. I can't vouch for the penetration, I was shooting 79# of k.e. so I would have passed through whitetails no matter what kind of broadheads I shot, as long as I had made good shots. "KWB" |
RE: 5SHOT mech??
yeah there really long buggers and the blades open at the back of the head after they are in about 1 3/4in.

RE: 5SHOT mech??
the ones I have now are two blade model. Pretty easy to put toghether, and the blades seem pretty sharp. The new style are supposed to be one peice, but I haven't seen them yet. I realy have heard nothing but good things about vortex heads, but I need to get a new cable for my test bow before I find out for sure.
