New to the Fourm - Thoughts of Hoyt Powerhawk
Hi all,
I bow hunted around 10 years ago for a few years and I wanted to get back into it. I was looking at the Hoyt Power hawk. Would you recommend it for a middle priced bow? Thanks! |
Getting back into the sport, looking at the middle bows is the right way to go.
The Powerhawk is a very good choice, Hoyt is known for their solid bows and the Powerhawk is right on par. Some other bows you may want to take a look at are the Mission line and the Bear line. Both offer bows in the same price range as the Powerhawk. Shoot every bow you can your hands on in your price range and find what feels the best to you, these are just starting points. |
I really like my Power hawk. The $400 bows kill deer the same as the $800 bow.
Same as a Ford Taurus will get you to work the same as a Lexus. That doesn't mean I would not rather have the Lexus. :D |
Diamond also makes some solid mid priced bows. Shoot all you can get your hands on. One will just feel better in your hands.:happy0001:

Personally, I couldn't get past the weight on the Powerhawk. It looked and felt chunky to me. I settled on a Mission. But do what feels best for you!

+1 on the PowerHawk. I really like mine. Might jump up to the TurboHawk if it was out when I bought mine a year ago. The Hoyt's draw cycle felt smoother to me that any of the others I toyed with.
I am looking at a Menace for the wifey. It is about a pound lighter. But the grip feels like I have a club in my hand. |
