If I remember right this was a female cat. I would say you have a breeding population now.

There have been several cat sightings in the past so im sure a breeding problem would have happend a long time ago.

No dice on hunting them this weekend. Saw several sets of tracks but none came in to the calls.

I'm guessing there have been cats in Iowa for quite some time. I was at a coon hunt in North West Missouri in the late 80's and one of the casts treed a lion during the hunt. We weren't that far from the Iowa line. They are and have been there.

Rob brings up a good point of conversation, often had within my hunting circles after too many Coors Original bottles...if given the chance in PA to shoot one, would you? Risk the notoriety of proving one was in PA, and the inevitable of going to jail? Kind of like the drinking game would you rather, but for rednecks like me

I believe the response from the PAGC would be that what you see there is a Bobcat, not a Mountain Lion. As Rob said, they don't exist in PA.
