Draw weight adjustment
 

What is the proper method of adjusting draw weight and insuring that the limb bolts are at the correct tension. Do you simply tighten them down then back them off an equal amount of turns. I think I saw an article about measuring the distance from the limb to the string. How do you do it.[X(]

You will hear many different ways, but the way I do it is.

Well, the way you mentioned it will work. However when you are thru draw your bow and look at the cams. they should stop at the same time. If not then on the cam that stops first you need to loosen that bolt. Cam timing is important, they should bottom out at the same time.

My bottom cam stops before the top one. I tried some adjustments but every thing stays the same. (eacept draw weight of course). But it appears that the 2 cams do not have the same exact starting point so they won' t reach the stop at the same time.

Any more tips. This is a PSE Nova.

Since it' s a 2 cam , you probably need to have your cables twisted until both cams roll over and stop in the correct position at the same time. I haven' t had a 2 cam bow , but what I was taught was to max out your poundage (assuming that your cams have been timed correctly) and then mark your limb bolt and your limb with corresponding marks. Then back each limb down an equal amount of turns. Good luck !!

If the bottom cam is stopping before the top, then tighten the bottom bolt enought to bring them in time. If the bolt stops then loosen the top bolt to bring them in time.
