Getting the shaft

Actually things are just fine. I got an Extreme VFT from Bowtech and have been doing plenty of shooting. My question is...what should I be considering for shaft size? I figure to order arrows for my new addition and have only shot my old arrows (which seem to fly ok) but there is a speed difference between the old Hoyt and Extreme.

This is my setup:
EXT VFT at 68 lbs
28" draw
Been doing ok with 2216 xx75' s (they paper tuned well)
Usually use 100 gr. Thunderheads when looking for food.

The shaft selection charts all seem to skip the 2216 when I input the above data.
Also, anyone experence a buzzing sound from this bow when you shoot?

Thanks for the input,
Chris

RE: Getting the shaft

First thing o do is to make sure the module screws are tight in the cam, thats where some noise came from on the wife' s LadyHawk. Leeches or cat whiskers do a good job of taking the noise out of the string. Arrow sizes for hunting would be a Carbon Express 300 or 400 for added weight and stiffness, which BowTech Bows like with broadheads. Also GoldTip 5575' s or 7590' s or CE 6075' s. Aluminum arrows, try 2315' s or 2314' s if you want more K.E. and to quite your bow by using a heavy arrow. Limb savers along with the VibraBlocks should make a difference also.

RE: Getting the shaft

Thanks for follow up. I paid a visit to our new archery shop and picked up a doz 2314' s and they really fly tight! I thought the 2216 were doing well but now I see what difference the proper shaft size can make.

Thanks again,

Chris
