one more day closer to not bow hunting.

Well I started phys therapy today. First thing they did was range of motion. She had me lay down and she lifted my arm up slowly to the back of my head. It popped cracked and made all kinds of noises only a 1950 car should. Then she notice it would jerk and pull sideways alittle when doing it. She said she thought it was going in and out of the socket. Looking like surgery more and more everyday. Not sure I want to though. I do not want it to end up worst after then it is now. Though I do not want it to get worst later. Big thing Is whether or not I will be able to bow hunt with surgery. If not ant going to happen. Guess where see. She told me they had me do phys. therapy so the insurance would pay for the MRI. SO guess they expect it not to help

Hang in there, think positive! if injured and needs surgery less likely you will be able to bowhunt......if needs surgery get it listen to your Dr. and follow his / her directions ......don't do things they say not to BUT do the P.T. it will hurt but all of it will improve your chances to get back in the game.

hang in there GOOD LUCK Pat

If it's going to improve your overall health, by all means get the surgery. You can still use a cross bow to hunt if your range of motion and/or strength is negatively affected by the surgery. No shame in that!

Sounds like my shoulder a year ago. I went through MRI, PT, 5 rounds of cortisone and some other drug injections, then finally ended up with a complete shoulder replacement. It hurt like hell, and the PT after the surgery was murder. However, I now have recovered about 95-97% of range of motion, and the pain is gone. I can shoot a Bow and a rifle again. Overall, I'm glad I had it done.

They have me set up for 7 sessions before the mri. Guess I will know more then. The pt nurse gave me about three things it could be. Knowing my luck it will be all three. Hopefully he does not screw around after the Pt. I am on my 4th cort shot. They do nothing but make it hurt for three or four days.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Mine was arthritis to the point the shoulder joint was bone on bone. When I would raise my arm it felt like a craftsman ratchet!
