earlyIN, I know who Wayne Zaft is and I also know there were plenty of different opinions on that deer.

Lol where did I call anyone dumb or in any way direct my post specifically at a said statement of yours... Lighten up as I said to each his own. The deer deserves respect and to post by many, O I wouldn't feel right this and that I don't deserve it yadda yadda ya and you mount road kill too? (a statement of yours) on his thread is implying a put down for his choice to hang the deer on the wall where in my opinion it should be. Thats all I was saying.....
Better to have him on the wall as a conversation/education piece than to hide him away in shame. I don't think he is going to go telling everyone that sees it hey I smoked this buck and watched him tip over I'm pretty sure he will think about how he didn't recover the animal right away. Just remember mother nature makes sure nothing goes to waste... WCL

Lol where did I call anyone dumb

It happens weather it be nerves or somethign else that caused the fouled shot but to say you don't deserve something and be proud of the deer you killed is dumb.

I said I was kidding lighten up would ya. You didn't see these after the post.
You mount road kill to?:confused0024::poke::rolleyes:

For the record, if I had shot this buck locally, I would have been looking for days on end for it... and I really wish i could... As I said, the landowner was the outfitter and I had to go by what he wanted to do.
No sense on arguing about it guys...

It was a guided hunt. The guide is the farmer

Not bashing, trying to help in the future.

Have you never read the recovery thread pinned at the top? You will find a lot of valuable information there.

NY was one of the first and has a premier dog tracking program. I guarantee you would have had your buck that night, if not the next day. It's a shame you missed out on that opportunity.

Congratulations on a late find.

I wish I had known that too Rob... I know you weren't bashing me..
This guy is very strict about his property and not messing up his sanctuaries... I think if I had been able to do my own thing we may have recovered next day as well..
