wierd ( shot placement )
I got my first kill with my new bow, its a fred bear truth ll.
Anyway heres a pic, look at the shot placement, looks good, right ? Well it wasnt, this was a spine shot, yes it worked and dropped her on the spot, but I had to run up to her and finish her with a knife across the throat. Just seems her spine is awfully low. My friend got the hog with his rifle. PS the Fred Bear is awsome, its shooting 296 fps 29" draw 70 lbs |
exactly what i thought when i shot my second buck this year! same spot but i spined him.. unfortunatly he dropped but quickly got back up and we found him and finished him 150 yards later.

I spined a buck last year and I too was surprised, it looked like a lung shot.

Shooting from the ground??? The spine is ALOT lower than most think. Very nice evening by the way.

I'd like to see a photo of her gutted and skinned and see the exact impact from the inside! I personnally don't see how that is a spine shot. Shoulder shot, yes, spine shot, I dont't see it.

not a spine shot......there is a place in there with a lot of nerves that if you hit just right it will drop them every time

You have to study a Deer's anatomy and bone structure, then continually visualize where everything is at while watching Deer. That one thing will make you a much more effecient Bowhunter if you become good at it. Dan |
