30+ cull bucks taken.
I call this BS! Picture was taken in MI. I dont know the whole story but supposidly these bucks were all labeled as "cull" bucks so they took them out of the heard. They were only fined for 10 untagged deer. But yet you
see the DNR taking a picture with the guys.
From the raid on St. Martins Island on Nov. 19, 2009.
31 bucks and 9 does on the pole. Nothing smaller than a 7 point.
Another approx. 10 deer, antlers, and heads found on the ground around
the camp. A mix of smaller bucks and does.
10 deer without tags, approx. another 10 deer with wives/girlfriends
tags. Investigation continues.

If those are cull bucks (whatever that term means, I know somehow inferior to the herd) then I'd love to see what they got wlaking around that they say is good.
What would be considered a cull buck. 2.5 or 3.5 year old deer with an 8pt rack at 16 inches??? When don't have crytsal balls to know how well they will grow in 2 years. Or do you need to wait until they get up to 6.5 or 7.5 years old on their way down.
Sometimes I thik QDM is getting a bit outta hand.

Sometimes! I think it is awesome if people want to make sure the herd is healthy but it seems most of it is about giant racks that bring in money.
That is a benefit of good nutrition but I doubt most of them are doing it for the right reason. It doesn't really matter though cause we all could argue until we are blue in the face about it.

Wow im shocked they shot that many bucks in Michigan. DNR are pointless they just create problems half of them don't know what their doing. Everyone is so stuck on shooting monsters and geting the buck to doe ratio right that does are being wacked left and right. None of those bucks are cull bucks, I agree with treedub they don't know what is going to happen in a few years to those bucks

I got this same pic in a e-mail today but it was about a DNR investigation and raid on this group of guys for shooting those deer, not for culling bucks. Who knows what the real story is. Here is the e-mail, Terry Short is the DNR officer who lead the raid.
