Rage Broadheads?
I have hunted with thunderheads, muzzys, spitfires, and magnum stingers but none of thos fly straight or have a big entry whole. i have heard about rage broadheads and heard that they make HUGE entry wholes and fly like field tips. please tell me how they are before i spend 40$ on 3 of them.

absolutley love them! but i have a shorter draw length so i feel i lack penetration with t hem

This is my first year hunting and rage is the only broadhead I've shot but I love them. I shot a nice doe my first day out and got a passthrough. She ran only ran bout 35 yards. I was kinda worried after I bought them because I started reading bout people not getting passthroughs and am only pulling 60#s. I feel good about them now as long as I make a good shot. You can look up countless posts about them good and bad on here.

I purchased a set of Rage last season and shot them against my Spitfire. I thought they did"nt open when I shot two deer last season, went back to Spitfire. Thought I"d give them one more try again this year, thought i"d lose my buck i shot, broadhead did'nt seem to open, small wound took forever tracking. Two years staying with Spitfire, never had a problem, huge wound, don't know why your having flight issue mine mimic field points. Just want to give you some advice. Your bow is not properly tuned. You should not have any trouble getting fixed heads to fly straight out of a properly tuned bow. |

I'm sure that the rages will perform well, however I don't like them. I've gotten them twice and had the same problem both times so I won't be buying them again. They have a stupid little rubber band that locks the blades in place. When you take them out/in your quiver the blades come unlocked and it wears on the rubber band. After about a dozen times or so of this, the rubber band is junk. They do send a couple extra but they wear out in no time as well. When the bans are junk the blades won't lock back at all, creating a useless broadhead. I'm sticking with my spitfire pro 100's, never had any problem with them

As the others have mentioned, if none of the high quality b-heads you mentioned fly well for ya..... TUNE YOUR BOW!!! If you don't know how to then you need to seek out the help of a Pro Shop in your area.
I also have shot several deer with Rages and I would NOT suggest these heads to someone with an untuned rig... the penetration loss will be GREAT. Be warned |
Love em or hate em, I picked up a package of 3 and they put 4 deer out of 4 shots into the freezer for me. One bent blade due to penetrating a spine is the only issue I have had, and I don't consider that a problem. Two of the original 3 are still in my quiver. Also, since I don't have foam in my quiver, I've never had a problem with them opening on me.

not to be rude...
Muzzy's and Stinger's and cant get them to fly, I'd be looking somewhere else for the problem.:confused2:

First tune your bow, get those arrows flying straight off your bow with field points.
I have had exceptional results with the 2 Blade Rages this year. I am careful about checking to make sure the blades are seated every time I knock an arrow (no big deal). So far, two arrows shot tipped with the Rage 2 Blade has given me 2 complete pass thrus on quartering away shots. Big entrance and exit wounds with good blood trails. I shoot 68 lbs., 30" draw, 420 grain arrow. Here is one of the entrance wounds on a 222 lb buck I killed quartering away passthru. ![]() |
I use Rage 2".
Won't use anything else. |
I have had zero problems with my Rage heads, 8 for 8 on deer shot with the Rage, all full pass throughs. I also have not had a problem with the blades opening in the quiver, once I seat them, they stay seated.

Tune your bow and shoot a solid rpl blade Broadhead like Slick Tricks. In the long run you'll be glad you did.

This is my first year using them. I agree with the earlier comment about the rubber bands wearing thin, but it put a nice entry hole in my buck, and got a complete pass through. I will continue to use them.

You might want to check out the Wasp Jak-hammer broadheads... They have 3 blades 1 3/4" cutting diameter and they fly just like field points. I got a pack off ebay shipped for $20
|
I have had no problem with them at all and would recommend them to anyone that has a properly tuned bow.
|
i love rage 2 blade. they fly just like my field points and they have a nasty entry hole. they are great broadheads
|
I am a fixed blade shooter, except for turkey hunting. My buddy wanted to shoot the Rage 2 blades last spring and I stuck with my Spitfire Gobbler Getters. We spent numerous hours in the blind together and he was always messing with his blades on the Rage. They would pop out easily and were a real nusiance. After our spring season he sold his Rage head and bought several Spitfire Gobbler Getters.
Shoot what you like and are comfortable with and for me Rage heads are more trouble than they are worth. |
Try searching the thread, there are already too many of these Rage threads out there that always end up ugly.
|
I have no doubts that some of the people who have had problems with these heads are to blame themselves for using them with an untuned or under powered bow. But that said, I have never seen a broadhead with more negative online feedback than the Rage. And I've been visiting hunting forums for a lot of years. Where there's that much smoke there has to be some fire. Too many good broadheads out there to fool with these things IMHO.

first year bowhunting went 3 for 3 with two passthroughs and a spine shot all rage all reusable all big holes take orings off go to auto parts store get new ones there they are a little thicker and will lock blades in tight will never open in quiver again. mine all opened and all killed deer i have no complaints and complete faith in them next year, untill they do prove me wrong then ill change until then i think they are awesome
|
I use them and love them, The entry and exit hole are huge and the deer bleed out fast. I shot 2 deer with one head so far even the same rubber band.
|
rage is the best broadhead on the market today!
|
Somebody please kick me in the head for continuing to click on these "rage" threads.

The best broadheads ever made in my opinion.
