Predicting the rut
 

I'm trying to figure out my week off in January as i live in Al. How do you predict when the rut is going to be, I think it has to do with the moon then a few days after.

I live in Alabama too and I'll tell you that it has nothing to do with the moon. The November rut predictions for the south this year by the deer & deer hunting magazine guys were dead wrong. They said that it would be Nov 2-12 and they were 2 weeks off. The rut is still going on right now. I will tell you to expect the rut at the same time it's always been for your area. But the only way to know for sure is to be in the woods to see for yourself.
