Mathews and Thunderhead team up again (pic)

I finally got this elusive hog. He kept coming in right after shooting light, but still during legal shooting hours. I hunt under a heavy canopy and it gets dark there 1/2 hour before the more open spots. Twice I heard him come in, but wouldn' t show until it was too dark to shoot. I had to sit up in my tree until he left. Friday he showed up again, but thanks to my " invention" I could see enough to shoot. I put a piece of white tape on my 20 yard pin about 1/4 inch square. Using that and the spot-hogg white ring on my sight I could center it all in my peep. I double lunged him, although a little high. He made it 20 yards in 5 seconds and that was it. He weighed 140 dressed.

Congrats on the nice hog, Mathews and Thunderheads..
...that is a good team;). Some of my most
memorable hunts have come when I had to do
a little extra to make things happen...way to
go[:-].

If Mepro-pins are legal where you hunt put one of them in your sight and you won' t have a problem. Green or amber work better for me than red. Also the bigger diameter mepro works better for me than the small one.

I never heard of Mepro-pins. I think lighted pins are legal in Hawaii. I don' t use them because they aren' t PY legal. This was my crude set-up.

Mepro lighted sights are not illuminated by batteries or any other electrical source and are therefore P&Y legal. They are illuminated by tritium.

By the way before I forget it this time, congratulations on your hog! :)
