HNI, I don' t think they make a bow that shoots that fast[:o]
I' m shootin about 270 fps with my darton, which I think is a good speed.
with my G/E splitfire, I' m only shootin 245 fps, which is plenty fast. 3 deer last year
with the splitfire, one at 25 yds, and got a complete pass through.
but I prefer an arrow speed of around 270 fps, because I shoot 1 pin set at 25 yds, and I' m still in the kill zone out to 30+ yds.

Like the others have said, you are thinking of arrow weight. There are a few bows that have been able to shoot those speeds (BowTech BKII), but that was with incredibly light arrows and set-up for absolutely nothing but speed.

I can' t say for sure, but on average, most hunters get speed ratings between 240 f.p.s. and 280 f.p.s. If your bow is in that range (most modern compounds are) then you are good to go, just don' t use mechanical broadheads.

Maybe he is shooting that new High Country...:)

I would wager to say that arrow speeds out of most bow setups today range in the 230-270 fps range. Some guys shoot arrows into the low 300s and some still shoot below 230 fps but I think most bows today are designed to shoot in the original range I mentioned with an average setup.
