topos and ariels
 

anyone have a GOOD site for topo and/or ariels?? namely for Ohio..?

seems all my old sites want paid or quality is utterly useless...

i used to know a site for PA i could download 7.5 minute USGS topos for...id LOVE to find something like that for Ohio and USGS wants money to even view online it seems..but even a useable website would work fine...

I usually use aerials... Bing Maps. Another good one is flashearth.com they give u nice big maps :)

Virtual Earth doesn't really give you topos but does give you some great fly overs and in some areas birds eye views. It is free and would be worth a shot to you.. .. My self I use Topo Scout or some DeLorme Topo Maps which came with my Earthmate GPS which I can also get a few fly overs.

thanx guys..appreciate it!! trying to do some homework..theres a chance i might be able to hunt Ohio...keep the sites coming...can never have to many of them...some show different things and are better than others...a good topo and ariel and i can narrow things down pretty good...i can do that from here so if all works out and i can hunt Ohio, i'll know where im heading and know locations to key into when im scouting...

Unklechuckles, i'll have to dig around and see if i can find it...it was in my book marks which i lost...havent needed it in a while as i downloaded all the topos i needed for PA...

Do a search for GIS systems in the county you plan to hunt. Here in NY many counties have interactive mappers that will show property lines, what sources, building structures, roads, etc. Most of them also have the topo feature so you can get everything you need with one mapping tool.
