Scrape and rub hunting

Last week I noticed a new scrape near one of my stands. I decided to hunt that stand this weekend and didn't have much luck. I was walking the opposite edge of the property on my way out last night and noticed a new rub line that I hadn't before. I'm at school now and won't be back out til wednesday.

My question is, under which sign would I be more likely to cross paths with a big buck? I know that being out of commission til wednesday will lessen my chances, but once I'm back at it where should I go? Should I hunt my existing stand by the scrapes, or set up my climber near the rubs. Or should I do neither and try by my known paths?

Any insight into these situations would be greatly appreciated. Gotta get my last minute game plan together!

This time of year I really don't think it will do you much good to hunt either of the sign areas, or it will at least be very low percentage. Target the doe bedding areas because thats where he is going to be spending most of his time. Good luck

I agree!! The bucks are done rubbing so hunting over a rub isn't doing any good unless its on a known path that they constantly use. However with the rut in (atleast here in Va.) They are chasing doe's, so that pretty much means they will be anywhere the doe's are. They are not really checking scrapes anymore either once the doe's come in heat. The best thing to do is get out as much as you possible can! Morning, mid-day, afternoon...All of the above!! Good luck and be safe out there :)
