I did a post called something like "so I peed in my mock scrape" idk if that will help but. I had a doe in heat pee in mine. Idk!! Hope for the best

I'm no expert but that last 2 years I've had deer use mine or make their own right next to the ones I made. I try to get them going early and place them 10 yards away from my bait or where I would like to put up a stand.

Well since you may increase the possibility and do not think there will be any adverse affects on your hunting then I don't see a problem with giving it a shot. I think that if you have bucks and does travelling the route that the mock scrape is on before and during the rut then they will remember that trail and the "scrapes" that were there. Remember too, that there is always the second rut to follow to and that may coincide with shotgun season. Anyhow, I think once the deer have been trained to check a spot they may still do that when they go back to their regular feeding patterns, even if for a brief second. Also remember too that shotgunning makes the deer high strung and they may use a totally different path for escape then what they have been during the "mild times" of archery pressure.

I shot an 8pt 2 weeks ago that came into a mock scrape at 10yds...it worked that day
