Please take a look at this picture and help me get the deer towards me.
Hello. Need a little help. This is my first year deer hunting and i'm trying to figure out why i'm seeing deer near me. Here is a picture of my hunting area. I have seen big bucks in the corn fields (I cant hunt the edges of the fields) I have also seen deer track coming out of the woods by the pasture (right where I put my stand). What i'm trying to do is get myself between where the deer eat (the corn field) and a bedding area (the big pasture). Also, there is a river on the other side of the pasture that I have seen deer tracks by so I know they are moving around the area. Unfortunately, when i'm in my stand, the deer all seem to be in the corn fields. I have been hunting from 3:00pm to 5:00pm when it gets dark. Should I reposition my stand? Any advice? Sorry if I sound like a noob. haha.
Red = my stand Circled green = areas I have been seeing deer in the corn Yellow = Pasture of tall grass (bedding area?) Blue = river White = Outline of my area ![]() |
Please outline your entire hunting area...how tall is that pasture grass? I dont think that is the primary bedding area, not for bucks anyways.

I only see a red "x" as the picture....anyone else?

How much of that area do you have permission to hunt?
If anything, the deer are likely bedding across the river from your stand. |

The grass looks similar to this, but this isnt my area. I just found this on google. |
If inside the white area is the place your allowed to hunt, Id move your stand to the upper right or lower left, close to the river.
