Thats right it has been 6 weeks since I shot this fella opening morning of bow season and I just got im back Sat. the guy told me 5-6 weeks and he got it done right on time. I know hes not the biggest but hes the biggest one I have yet to kill so im pretty pround of him.

WOW 6 weeks thats fast does he have a drive through window.

MGH_PA 10-27-2009 09:44 AM

Wow, and I thought my taxi's estimate of 3-4 months was quick. Does he tan his own hides?

No he aint got a drive through window :happy0157: I dont know if he tans his own hides or not I think why I got it back so quick was that the head I brought up to him was the 2nd one for him since the start of season, thats my thinking though.

Thats cool you got it back so fast! Care to say what he charged?

Southern Buck 10-27-2009 11:39 AM

It was $265 I got the walnut backboard instead of the plane ol pine which would have made it $250.

Wow, he does nice work for that price. The cheapest around here is in the 400's...

daveyrock 10-27-2009 12:11 PM

I'm guessing he dry-preserves instead of tanning.

Yeah I though 3-5 months was fast

BvrHunter 10-27-2009 12:16 PM

randyshunting 10-27-2009 03:07 PM

Thats a very nice looking mount. He does a good job at great price, and fast too.

blakefrautschi 10-27-2009 03:34 PM

nice deer, fast mount, good price, good mount....what more could you ask for?

wingchaser_labs 10-27-2009 03:36 PM

He could have tanned it himself but I might guess dp too with how cheap he is. I wet tan all my deer and just finished the first one of the year brought in on Sept. 20 and finished it last thursday. Thats just under 5 weeks. It's in the taxidermy forum here if you wanna check it out. Congrats again on your trophy. Kyle

MeanV2 10-27-2009 03:52 PM

I usually don't get my heads back for a year but I'll glady wait as he is one of the best in the State.

Thanks everyone, he told me he has been doin this since he was 15 and the first deer head he had done was for my neighbor down the road whos house burned down about 5 years ago. He also told me he was raised up in my neck of the woods and knows all my neighbors hes like late 30s earlie 40s and lives about an hour away so I will be doing all my bussiness with him.
