Don't worry. I know i am to big and you ant going to upset me. You did not come off as a A hole. So no worrys man. Most peoples crap them selfs when i tell them my weight. Then even more when i say i hunt from a 15 foot tree stand. Sadly with no harness  I can not find one to fit me right. Though a guy told me the biggest hunter safter harness would be ok as far as weight if it will fit i need to go see if one will fit though. I can walk a mile and half in the woods to a stand if need be. O just tend to be huffing and puffing when i get there. :happy0001:

One other suggestion that was overlooked, and I don't mean to be an a-hole, but it's time to lose some weight. If you are worried about a 2 man tree stand not being able to hold you, that should be a hint.
With that said, I hope you have a happy and healthy hunting season. I have to give you credit, if I was pushing 5 bills I don't think I would want to be climbing a ladder stand 15 feet in the air.

Tim, please stay out of trees if you're not wearing a safety harness. Weighing 475 lbs, if you fall out of a tree, you are going to break something, more than likely your neck. I don't want to see you dead in a headline somewhere.

Some of those ladder stands are pretty confined. You almost have to throw yourself out of them and as for the ladder, millions of people everyday climb one without strapping themselves in. Ladder stands even come with rails. I'm sure he's well aware of his limits, but he can make one out of straps and ropes if he really wanted too. I don't think it would do much good though, hanging there could kill him. A confined stand is best.

FYI Even a commercial ladder is only rated at 300lbs. I don't know what the ladders on stands are rated at.
