Michigan Buck Down
Not a long story, but here goes...
Snuck out of work about 3pm this afternoon to make sure i could be in the stand by 5, decided to hunt a natural hardwood funnel inbetween some christmas trees and a marsh with my climber that I never have sat in before....I parked at the gate and started hiking scouting as I went, finally coming to a tight spot loaded with scrapes and rubs... After about 5 minutes of looking around i picked a medium sized Ash tree within 20 yards of the rubline and a fresh scrape...Made my way up, settled in and watched the beautiful evening...about 15 minutes into the sit my brain finally registered the the nearest oak was dropping acorns like crazy....I thought to myself "this will suck if a deer comes to eat there because it is dead behind me and downwind..."... After about 30 minutes more of enjoying the cool evening I hear something snap behind me...yup...sure enough he snuck in and was feeding behind me...he was feeding towards a nice opening and I prepped for a shot, only problem was the seat of my climber was looking close to my bottom cam...sure enough I shoot and pull up thinking about the seat, the arrow shaves the top of his back....he trotted away and a went into autodrive knocking another arrow...as he hit an opening i drew and grunted, he hit the brakes at 34 yards quartering away, I put the 30 yard pin and SMOKED him this time...Here are the results...
