I shoot aluminums. If I ever kill a deer I'll let you know how they work on it!

I was wondering about this exact thing. I, by my error, bought some Eastons that were on sale a while back and in my haste to get them and get on to something else, didn't pay attention to the fact that they are aluminum. When I looked at the weight, they are 4 to 5 gpi heavier than some of my carbons. I was considering practicing with them a bit to see how they fly and how much adjustment would be needed on my sight.

Looking at the pros and cons, I know I'll get better penetration with them but lose speed. I'm wondering exactly how much speed I'll be losing and if those 4 or 5 gpi will make a lot of difference at 30 to 35 yds. Any of you aluminum shooters have a good opinion on this one?

Always shot my 2117 (XX75). I don't worry about speed.

I used Carbons ONE YEAR & went back to ALUMINUM. Gave my Carbons to my son. 2216 XX75s out of 60#s. Taken Elk, Buffalo, Whitetails, Mule Deer, Black Bears, Wild hogs & more with them.
