One question?? The foxes destroyed the hind quarters However I did salvage back straps front shoulders and neck but anyways why did the foxes eat the ears and eyeballs were gone??? Or was this a different critter and should I worry about the meat??

I would venture to say crows or birds probably ate the eyes out. I have read the fluid inside the eyeball has a high nutrition value to them. Seems the eyeballs are always the first to go so i guess i believe it.

WTG, glad you found her. And by the way GREAT SHOT!!!! I agree, the birds will eat the eyes. Weird that the ears where gone, cant say I have ever seen that before. Depends on the temps there, as to how good the meet would be. If it didn't stink and wasn't gooey, I would say its ok. Do you cut the meet up your self? If not, your butcher would be able to tell you if its any good. I know its been in the lower 40's here at night lately, but last night it was in the mid 50's. Could be questionable if it was that warm where your at, I think it would also depend on how long she was dead also.
