Default Days Events, 10-05-09 Bucks, Bears and Doe oh my!

I'm not planning an every sit thread, tonight was just a great one and thought ya'll would get a kick from it. Especially those that got the text.

First to show up was a button, pass'n through. Not long a mature doe showed and spooked even though she was up wind. Moments later, a BEAR . Smallish, maybe 150lbs. Then a second BEAR , not bad, perhaps 250, 275. He put on a show, stood scratching his back against a tree maybe 35 yards out.

Bad pic,

As he moved down wind and hit my trail, he moved right in to 10 yards.

They moved off. Very cool.

Funny thing is, Ben and I were playing sighting poker. He text'd that he had a button, I called his button. I then said I had a doe and the text'd back oh, your raising me a doe. I then texted BEARS and I got a text, I fold! LMAO.

I text Schultzy that he had a limp and I swear he was either carrying his front leg or was a 3 legged bear!

These bucks came from downwind and crossed my trail, then passed me at 5 yards.

Same seven point from Saturday evening. Nice thing about these two stands and why they are there, he passed at 5 yards and then walked the field and passed my other stand at 10 yards. That's why they are here, it's a natural funnel. Over 20 years of experience here placed them but ya'll know that.

PT, you could have been tagged out again.

Then this huge 11 point came by:

What a gorgeous night.

Always cool to see a wide variety in one night. That's one thing I love about hunting up here.

And about the texting... I keep getting this picture of you giggling like a school girl in the tree stand from getting a funny response. Too funny. I guess it is pretty cool that you can stay in touch and talk with each other in the field though.

Man Rob, I'd be a little spooked if I had those bears getting within 10 yards of me but we don't have bears out here so maybe it just takes a little used to. Nice pics BTW and I love the idea of texting poker, I may have to try it!

What an awesome sit Rob. The way things were going around here this summer, I might actually get to see a bear this year too. Great pictures bud!
