Congrats on your Bear!!! I do not like the taste of them so I will not hunt them. But for those that do I hope you all tag out on them...

Is it greasy and like a roast? Thats what I have been told by people that have been told that. So I don't know how true it is. Hey, some people think woodchucks are good eating

Congrats on your bear...nice one!

I've often wondered what I would do if I actually shot a bear. I've never been around anyone that has killed one. What is the standard protocol after shooting a bear? Anything special?

The reason I'm asking is we have one running around where I live...and its pretty big. 300+ for sure. In the stand I was in yesterday, there were two scat piles within about 10yds of it. I wouldn't shoot one unless it was a big one - but was actually wondering yesterday what the heck I would do with one if I shot it! LOL
