wish us luck

I got a call from a friend a little while ago for some help.He told me he has a deer down,or so he thinks but it is a huge deer and that he is going to need some help getting him out (this friend is about 250#'s) so I hope this means he has a monster on the ground,The way he talked it is a good deer but he was kinda being reserved about it.

The problem is he hit it high and didn't get a pass through,so he backed out and doesn't want to go back untill the morning(this means I have to get up early ) So he is going to call me around day break and we are going to hopefully go find a monster.

Good luck with the tracking and hope you guys find the deer.

It sounds like your buddy did the right thing by backing out and the cool temps we are having should only help. Since it is almost 9am already, I am guessing that your buddy is either a very happy man right now, or very upset. Keep us posted and lets see some pics if the recovery is made. Good luck!!!

Well, all I can say is he must not have made a very good shot.Found his arrow broke off not 20 yards from where he shot him.It was another 20 yards or so before we found the first drop of blood and I mean drop.Found a few more drops up the trail about 5 yards and then a few more drops a 10 yards up the trail and then NOTHING.It was very red and no bubbles at all.We searched all day for blood and did grid searches in some of the nastiest cover you can imagine.Searched around a pond.I even went back to the house and got the 4 wheeler and started riding through the thick stuff and trying to cover as much distance as possible.I think he hit the deer in the shoulder and he is still alive.

He thinks he is dead and I suspect he will go back but I am not convinced.

That sucks, hopefully he is ok or he finds him soon.
