This'll be the first PA opener I'll miss since I can remember

On the other hand, I'm mising the Pa opener because I'm headed to Illinois to open their bow season!!!

I'm going out, but I still haven't decided if it will be morning and evening, or just evening. With the chance of rain, that may make my mind up for me. My evening location is set up better for the rain. Most likely I will be out both though. Hard not to get up and go opening morning just because.

Sounds like a valid reason. Good luck.

It changes with regularity this far out. Especially wind speed/direction. It's been bouncing back between a SW and SSW wind. That day I posted that, the gusts listed on NOAA and Accuweather were 33mph SSW. They're now 14mph gusts and 8mph SSW.

Taking my 7 year old son out. We put a two man tree stand up last winter and got him a small crossbow. He's ready to rock.

I have another 1 man stand in an area where I planted small food plots this summer. If my old man is not going out at first light, I'll leave my boy with him and I'll go out myself for the first couple hours and sit in that stand.

Rain or shine... I'll be there both AM and PM.

Numerous years I've filled PA archery tags on day one.
