Finally got to shoot!
#1

Didnt have much studying today after I got done with school today so I figured id go hunting. Bad news was, most of our spots that we hunt regularly are on the river so I had to be a land hunter for a day
It worked out well tho. A group of 3, two fawns and a nanny came by. I thought the big momma was gonna come closer so I held off on shooting her, and the next fawn to cross my path in hopes of mommas return. Didnt work out as they were walking away up a hill...
I figured my chances were done so I watched the show. The last fawn came by the same clearing as all of the others, but stopped to eat, so I ranged her real quick and figured id draw on her just for the heck of it. I was holding rock solid, heart rate was controlled, and my breathing was good. I dont have a 50 pin b/c I didnt plan on using it this year. I set mine up 20-30-40-60-70 just for the heck of it b/c I like shooting distance...
She was 49yds on the nose, so I split my 40 and 60 pin and let it fly. She was ever so slightly quartering to me. Hit her in the top of the shoulder close to the neck on entry and exited her opposite shoulder. Arrow was buried in the dirt.
Bow specs were:
PSE OMEN 30"DL 66#'s
Shooting Easton XX78 2514's with 2 blade Rages weighing in at 530gr. flying 287fps.
The bh had no problem penetrating both shoulders and some earth, but why whouldnt it??? 95#'s of KE and a 60# deer
She literally bucked once, and stumbled approximately 9 yds and fell and kicked a few times and it was done. the quickest bow kill ive ever seen. She was expired in about 15-20seconds.
I thank the pin splitting and shooting to attending 3d shoots regularly. Its paid off...
Here the little tyke is
