question about broad heads
Hello,
I have taken all the advice given to me about Bow hunting, I finally and not afraid to drop the bow, and have been grouping wonderfully, So i switched to my Broad heads and now the arrows shot way different ! I tried some practice ones and they shoot great but the broad heads shoot way different , any suggestions on why and how to fix this Lori Cobb www.theoutdoorsmangallery.com |
by practice ones do you mean practice broadhead blades or just practice tips. If you just mean the practice tips make sure your tips weigh the same as your broadheads. Ie do not shoot 150 grain broadhead and use 100 grain practice tips as that wil through your sighting off. I know of no reason why practice blades for your broadheads would shoot differnt then the normal blades.

If your field points shoot fine and your broadheads are off your bow is out of tune. There is a lot of good info in the technical forum on tuning in respect to this same issue.

Yes, your bow must be out of tune....Take it to a good sport shop and have it squared up...then shoot one of your real broadheads to make sure [not the practice broadhead that comes in the package....they tend to shoot all over the map]

Sounds like a tuning problem but be aware it's not unusual for BH's to shoot a little to one side or the other.I'm talking only a couple inches here.If that's the case just adjust your sights. If more than that find a good shop to help you get things sorted out.

I sing to the same tune, check your bow and tune also...one good point that bigtime mentions, make sure they are the same weight in grains, if they are not matched, it will cause you to pull out your hair
