what are you killing the deer with.

Witha few of us dumbA*** changing sights arrows and such right before season starts :hit: thought i would ask this question of all you great shooters out there :sad0064:
Whats setup are you shooting and what new arrows or sights would you change it if you wanted to changed. DO you like a arrow you do not shoot.
Or is everything you shoot the best.

Carbon Express MAXIMA 350
Sword Illuminated 4 pin .019 sight (modified so only the 20yd pin illuminates)
G5 Expert II Drop Away Rest
G5 Striker 100 gr.
09 Bowtech Admiral 68 pound draw weight (maxed out weight for my draw length)
I love everything the way it is, have no need to change a thing but then again what could I upgrade to?

Not that I am an expert by any stretch of the imagination. I am shooting a Bear Done Deal, 70lbs, copper john deadnutz 2 sight " gave my G5 optix to my son" . Rest is a Octane Hostage pro. Arrows are the Beman ICS 400.

My gear is no were near the best but it does the job. I am not all that impressed with the rest. I am considering going back to a WB or even a dropaway. Am I comfortable with my setup? Yes and that is what counts in my book.

I'm using Beman ICS Camo Hunters(340's), 100 grain Slick Trick Magnum's, NAP QT 2000 drop away rest, Sword Apex Twilight Hunter sight, and a Hoyt Vtec 29" draw set at 72 lbs.

This setup has worked excellent for me!

I am shooting a Bowtech Guardian
Extreme 900 4 pin sight
LimbDriver rest
FMJ 400 arrows
100 gr ST RazorTrick broadheads

I don't see me changing anything for awhile.

I think spending a lot of money on gear is great....if you have it. But it's not "necessary". That being said....confidence in one's tackle is paramount to hunter success. If I didn't think what I was using was the "best" (FOR ME)....I'd find a way to obtain said.

Here's what I'm hunting with.....and I couldn't be more confident.

What gmmat said is spot on, its all about confidence. I am shooting an 08 hoyt katera set at 55 pounds, im shooting beman ics bowhunter 400's tipped with G5 tekkans. I have a trophy ridge dropzone rest and a 3 pin sight (forget the brand) that was 30 bucks. I am confident with my bow and set up and could not be more ready for october 3rd to come.

I was in the Archey business full time for nearly 20 years (pro shop/lanes) & pretty much used the middle price range for my personal Hunting Bow as that is what MOST of my customers could afford. Arrows, I used what I thought was best & preached that to my customers-shoot the BEST arrow shaft you can afford.
I've been a Darton Bow person since the mid 70s. My last Darton was purchased for $99 from Cabelas bargain cave in (I think) 2003..
60# Single Cam, 75% let off. My arrows are Easton 2216 XX75s tipped with a 3 Blade Rocky Mountain Ironhead. This combo has accounted for 1 Bull Elk, A Cow Buffalo, at least 7 deer & probably 10 wild hogs. 2 Whitetails & 2 Hogs last year.
