Default Gloves??

Who wears gloves(latex, nitrile) when they are gutting a deer? Honestly I never have, I promised if CWD or something moved into my part of the state I would but it never did so I dont worry about it. I just dont like the feel of wearing gloves..

I normally do, but yesterday I forgot to bring a pair along when I went hunting. I had to gut out my doe the old fashioned way, gloves free.

I run a medical clinic, so I use the surgical gauntlets we have here. They go up mid-way up my forearm, and are VERY strong, since they are made for surgical use. I've not really done it for disease prevention, more just for ease of cleanup.

I use them all the time for easy clean up. I spend more time cleaning my knife than anything now. I love it.

I don't wear them even though I have access to them in my lab.

We go to all the effort of wearing saftey harnesses and such and even berate hunters that don't, but don't protect ourselves from potential bloodborne illnesses that could come from deer. There is a reason doctors nurses and dentists use them. The process is call universal precautions. There really is no excuse (just like wearing a harness) in not wearing gloves to protect you from disease while gutting a deer. With that being said, I will be packing a few gloves in my backpack this season.

Plus it the clean up factor is a plus.
