I use the Nikon 440 and it has been great. It does not have the ARC capability for determining range between differing elevations, but I have not found a great need for this capability. I believe the price was ~$200.

I just got the leupold RX-1000 TBR. Its the best rangefinder that i have used and works really good for bowhunting (witch is what it is used for the most) and also for rifle hunting. Don't remember what it cost off the top of my head but i think it was around 360-400.

I have a nikon prostaff 550, $200 from cabelas. I love it and it's a great rangefinder. That being said, Nikon's customer service sucks. I lost the battery cover and when I tried to order a new one it was $10.33, okay we will charge your credit card $50.33, WTF? It seems they charge $40 S&H and refund the difference in actual shipping. OK. A week later still no part, call nikon, it's back ordered. Why didn't they tell me that last week? A call 2 days later and it's shipping that day (last tuesday) Wait wasn't it just back ordered? hopefully it's there when I get home since I have been hunting deer on a kill permit with my bow and need my range finder. Explaining that to Nikon did not help it get here any faster.

On a side note, I have borrowed a bushnell 450 sport, seems good. NIce bright, clear picture, doesn't seem to take readings off of some things my nikon would but otherwise seems great. Out of curiousity I called bushnell and asked about a lost battery cover and they were prepared to ship one at no cost, same day.
