Slick Trick BH's
Those of you who used ST's last year. What do you think of them? Really interested in the ones that shot a deer with them.
|
I'm very happy with mine, trying out the Griztricks this year after great success with the originals. Do a search, LOTS of positive things to read about them.
|
After hearing so much about them, im trying them out this year too, they do shoot as true as field tips!
|
The only Broadhead I will ever use again. I found the perfect BH!!! HANDS DOWN!!
Hatchet Jack |
I have killed at least 3 deer and a hog with them.... great broadheads. I have shot Muzzy's and Montec's. I like the slick trick best of all because of how sharp they are straight out of the package. Also, tuning them has been easier than with any of the other brands I have used. I get no whistling.
|
Been using them for 4 years now and have taken a bunch of whitetails with them. I was even using them when people claimed they were not sharp enough.
|
Had them for a couple of years and killed a couple deer & bear with them. Switched to Crimson Talons, but am back to the ST 100gr Magnums for this season.
|
I was very happy with on game performance with the tricks last year...they crush bone well and are very sharp.
|
Sharp, shoot well, rugged, replaceable blades - what's not to like? I've killed several deer with them these past 4 yrs and am pleased with the performance.
-fsh |
I got two sets of them hope they work out well.
|
I killed 2 deer with them last year (ST Mags), and I was very impressed with them. They do the job to say the least. Nothing bad to say about them.
|
i love my slick tricks, there amazing, and one of the reasons why i love them so much is kuz of how similar they are to 100 grain field tips, and another, they got bone splitting power, awesome heads
|
Best broadheads I've ever shot. Blew holes through a doe at 30 yards, and a 185 lb(gutted wt.) buck at 40. Shoot right with my field points.
|
first year using them, i instantly killed a turkey, with a full pass through, and a dubble lung pass through on a doe that went 40 yards.
|
I have taken game with between 40 and 50 models of Broadheads both fixed blade & mechanical.
I have shot some model of Slick Trick almost exclusively since 03. Last year I shot the 100 grain Grizz Trick. This year I have the 125 grain Grizz Trick ready to go. They are the Best all around Broadhead I have used in 40 years of Bowhunting.:cool2: Dan |
I found one thing strange when shooting grizztricks this year. They require slightly stiffer spine than say even thunderheads, or regular tricks, or even G5 Montecs.

Not going to argue the point as you may very well be right. If a guy is right on the edge of being too limber anyway, but for my setup I used the same arrow with No problems, and all the 100 grain Slick Trick models grouped together out to 40 yards for me. Dan |

Mark,
It could be the wider blades catch a tad bit more air resistance and cause a little more pressure on the shaft. I'm not sure but that's just a thought. Dan |
For whatever reason, my Grizz's shoot even better than my Mags. With the Mags, I was about 1" low left consistently, maybe only 3/4", but with the Grizz, I'm dead nuts every single time. Perhaps they corrected a slight spine issue I was having without even knowing it?
|
4 Blades vs. 3 most likely, BC- Had the same issue many years ago when I first started using Muzzy 90s. Shot all my 3 blade heads (WASP SST/CCL & TH 85s) no prob. But If you are borderline on spine/tune/fletching control that extra blade will mess with you-despite the smaller cutting diameter.
Now for my own curiosity- anyone shooting these at 300 FPS plus? |
im prolly gonna try the grizztrick this year...those are some bad a$$ broadheads from what i hear

Now for my own curiosity- anyone shooting these at 300 FPS plus? Mark mentioned regular Tricks which are also 4 blades:) I shot the Mags year before and the Grizz Tricks last year both at over 300 fps without a problem. I won't be shooting over 300 fps this year though:happy0001: Dan |

IDK why, but out of my XF6 the Grizz Trick hit the mark like the fp everytime where my mag acted a weee bit different at distance. IT wasnt anything much, not even an " of difference, but the grizz did fly better for ME. BC, that is what I would expect to be honest being that the angle of the blades is steeper??? It was the opposite for me tho lol so that goes to show ya how different everyones setups are:bash: |

Jeff,
Mark mentioned regular Tricks which are also 4 blades:) Is there not a difference though in the Grizz tricks cutting diameter? That again would amount to the same thing as I was saying before-bigger cut + borderline spine/tune/control going to = issues. I shot the Mags year before and the Grizz Tricks last year both at over 300 fps without a problem. I won't be shooting over 300 fps this year though:happy0001: |
