Heavy arrows for not so heavy setup
 

Hello all. I have a PSE Stinger set at 55 lbs. I usually shoot a arrow that is 7.3 grains pr inch. I ordered terminator xp selects offline, and didnt realize untill they were shipped, that these arrows are much heavier than my previous ones. They weigh 9.9 grains per inch, and are 27" long. Will this be okay for a hunting setup. They are the arrows spined for my bow, just much heavier. Anyone now anything about these arrows, or how they fly. Any input would appreciated.

By the way my bow is cranked up. I dont know why it only goes to 55.9 lbs.

You'll generally get better penetration with heavier arrows.Enough speed with lighter arrows will give equal or better penetration but arrows that light will beat the crap out of the bow as much of the energy is then absorbed by the bow instead of the arrow.

Heavier arrows will also be quieter because they absorb more energy from the bow.

Hatchet jack

I have shot 55#s with 2216 Easton Shafts-29" & a 125 gr head-lots of weight.
I currently shoot 60#s with the same 2216 arrow & very satisfied with results.
I nearly ALWAYS have complete pass throughs on all my animals-Elk, Caribou, Black Bears, Buffalo to name some of the larger ones.
I shot "the chart" size Carbons for 2 years out of my 70# Bow & did not get pass throughs on anything. 5 or 6 Deer all within 20 yds & good hits, 1 Elk (Heart shot).
I gave them all to my son as he likes them.
