Wow, can you train the deer where I hunt. The first deer I shot with my bow it took me tracking it for 4 hours, if they would stay in the 40 yrd. range that would be awesome.:D

1,729 yards... running... into the wind... in a blizzard.... with a broken arrow and no tip.... also no nock.... no sights always instinctive.... the sun was in my eyes and so was the moon.... did I mention it was Hailing... I'd post pictures and the video but I left them at my other mansion.

Ryan.

(27 yards on my 7 point monster ironically.)

15 Yards, and I killed a squirrel at 46 yards, and one at 35 yards.

25 yard deer...35 yard turkey. 35 is where i draw the line.

Last year I got a doe at 38 and a turkey at 51. Neither knew what was coming. If relaxed and the deer does not know I am there I would think about 50 but otherwise not more than 40 at deer. I also practice out to 70 but could go to 100 at our range. I just don't have any pins for that and have never tired beyond 80. My last pin is for 50 so even the 70 is pushing it. Just aim high and see where the arrows group. It really shows flaws in form better at longer ranges.

Way to go Dan on the 84 yard Elk. That is awesome. If you know you AND your equipment can make the shot I say go for it.

Five yards was the shortest shot an eight.
40ish yards was the longest.

32 yds on a deer, but all the reast were 24 or under.
Most under 18

The 1st deer I ever took was at 35 yards walking. It was a broadside double lung hit.
The longest was at 45 yards standing broadside and he ducked the arrow and I ended up hitting him in the spine. He dropped in his tracks.
Last fall I shot at a gobbler at 51 yards, clean miss.
It all comes down to knowing your equipment and your capabilities. Practice, practice, practice.
