The longer you hunt the more you will realize this is not a shot you want to repeat.

Yeah that's what i was thinking. They say that quartering towards is the WORST position to take a shot. Why? Because for one the deer is looking right at you. And two, The bones in front are covering all the vital organs you need to hit.

If you get sticker shock from the prices that taxidermist get on shoulder mounts, look at going with a european mount (skull mount). I have an entire hallway devoted to skull mounts (about 30 or so) that has been nicknamed the "hall of death". Some I've done myself. Some I let the pro's do for anywhere between $30 to $50 . Great alternative and looks cool IMO.

Congrats again man great opening day buck. You should do a european mount if they want too much for a shoulder mount.
