Yeah that's what i was thinking. They say that quartering towards is the WORST position to take a shot. Why? Because for one the deer is looking right at you. And two, The bones in front are covering all the vital organs you need to hit.

Any deer taken with a bow is a trophy. If you get sticker shock from the prices that taxidermist get on shoulder mounts, look at going with a european mount (skull mount). I have an entire hallway devoted to skull mounts (about 30 or so) that has been nicknamed the "hall of death". Some I've done myself. Some I let the pro's do for anywhere between $30 to $50 . Great alternative and looks cool IMO. |
