Missouri bait law...

"Deer and turkeys may not be taken with the use of dogs, bait, electronic calls, electronically activated calls or live decoys. Scents and minerals, including salt, are not considered bait, however, mineral blocks with food additives are prohibited. An area is considered baited for 10 days even after complete removal of the bait. It is illegal to place bait in a way that causes others to be in violation of the baiting rule."

scents and minerals including salt are not considered bait.....??? someone explain that to me...so i could use a salt block if i wanted or what?

Yes, salt/mineral blocks are not considered bait, you can hunt over them if you want.

X2, just make sure it's JUST salt without any kind of flavoring (i.e. apple or acorn or whatever is on the market these days)

MO-KS_hunter 09-12-2009 08:18 AM

Almost any farm and home/feed stores here in mo sells the plain salt blocks and mineral blocks, both are legal to use here........

Yea I never understood this rule. We can't hunt over "bait" but the Conservation Commission can plant food plots!!!:confused0024::D
