I bought a bow online then added the rest, sight, and peep over a few paydays. I'm a total beginner, and knew nothing about draw weight, length or anything. I think that is where a good shop can be really helpful. I seem to have lucked out as the bow feels good and seems to fit me. Anyway, as mentioned earlier, be wary when you go to a shop. I went to one looking for a sight and peep, and the guy was only half attentive and was telling me it would cost $200.00! They wanted to charge me $35 just because I bought the bow online! Naturally I left and found another shop. This one was great! The guy did the work, answered all my questions, And I was out the door for under $60. When it comes time for a new bow, I know where I'm going.

I agree with Burnie. Speed isn't everything (been there done that) I shoot a 543 gain arrow, I don't know how fast it is and don't care. All my arrows pass through!
Try to find someone that knows about archery and take them with you when you go shopping, some of those quacks at pro shops don't know squat. |
