question about range finders for bow hunting

hey guys. new guy here. long time lurker, thought i should join up and join the fun.

i have been looking for a range finder and i am shocked at how expensive they are for hunting, but i have found several for golf that are much cheaper. anybody ever use a golf range finder in the woods? does it work? anybody have any reasons as to why this won't work?

A rangefinder doesn't care what it's ranging.

Many of the golf RFs work off the height of the flag.

Just make sure they are laser and not optical RFs.

I picked up a TRL75 off the classifieds here awhile back - one of the first rangefinders made for hunting. It's optical, not laser, but worked good enough to help me learn how to range distances myself. Believe I paid $25 for it shipped to my door. You can problably pick one up on ebay for even less now.

you really should learn to gauge your yardages by eye not expensive optics
