Whisker biscuit or fall away rest??

looking to buy a rest for my bow...which is a better rest in your opinion??

danscott 08-17-2009 03:31 AM

I really like my biscuit.

The Rev 08-17-2009 04:04 AM

In my opinion Drop ways are better, I had a W.B.when they first came out, and threw it way, but everyone has different opinions.

I have a WB... I like it... I guess for me it has to do with simplicity!!! I'm a Whitetail deer hunter period... I'm not a target shooter... 99.9% of the deer I shot are within 20 yards...

I'm not all caught up in the whole latest and greastest BS...

I keep a bow for at least 10 years or longer... My last rest was a TM hunter if that tells you anything lol...

As far as I'm concerned... You cant go wrong with the WB

I'd get the WB...

Tribal 08-17-2009 06:28 AM

I have a WB like others have said I am a hunter 99.9% of the time and I like the way my WB performs. Drop aways are nice also it is really a matter of what you want out of your rest.

Western MA Hunter 08-17-2009 06:33 AM

I love my WB... have tried many different options...
as far as drop aways, i did like the QAD Ultra Rest... still prefer wb

Tut23 08-17-2009 06:49 AM

id say it also depends on how much you want to spend with dropaways being easily over 100 and WB being around 40ish least thats how much it was when i bought mine

BrownItsDown420 08-17-2009 07:09 AM

I've had both. I prefer my QAD Ultra-Rest over the whisker biscuit.

LKNCHOPPERS 08-17-2009 07:19 AM

If you don't mind your fletching coming in contact with the whiskers of a whisker biscuit, that may be the rest for you. I like my QAD drop away.

wis_bow_huntr 08-17-2009 08:25 AM

One less thing to go wrong with a WB

brunsc 08-17-2009 12:04 PM

wb with all my heart its the bomb

kwaldeier 08-17-2009 01:56 PM

thanks guys, i shot both recently and liked the WB better. just seeing if there was any drawbacks to them but it sounds like the WB have it...and yes they are around 40 bucks now...

gsptarget 08-17-2009 02:22 PM

I had a drop away and when I tried a whisker I never looked back
WIll always use a whisker biscuit

phirstaide 08-17-2009 03:01 PM

I shoot target with the same bow that i hunt with. just makes sense to me. i had a bisket and switched over to the QAD and my average went up. so i stuck with the drop away rest.

standsleeper 08-17-2009 07:17 PM

I've had both. I started with a cheap dropaway on my first bow. I then switched to the WB. I hunted with it for a couple of years. Last month I had trouble with my bow. It wouldn't hold a group. I took it to my local pro shop. They said my whisker was bent. I couldn't tell from looking at it. I had them put a QAD ultra rest on it. I am back to touching shafts at 20 yards again.[ something I was never able to do consistently with my whisker biscut.] They are both good choices for different reasons. I plan to stay with the fall aways. I just think they are more accurate. WB are good for their simplicity and quietness. Though a good fall away can be just as quiet. It is all according to what you like. By the way the QAD Ultra Rest seels for around 50 - 60 bucks around here. NOt 100

peakrut 08-18-2009 01:00 AM

NAP Smartrest dropaway rest for me I like that it does not bounce back up after it falls.

4evrhtn 08-18-2009 03:16 AM

I love a whisker biscuit for keeping my arrow in the rest no matter how I turn my bow but for shooting accurately and consistently I love my G5 expert II. I have the G5 on my bow for hunting and target, it's quieter and doesn't reduce my arrow speed.

Accuracy-fps-quietness,if these are going to play a role in the descision,it`s no contest.
"Drop zone" drop away for me

RIStrutStopper 08-18-2009 07:47 AM

I'm a drop away fan. I shoot a drop zone, but there are many great drop aways on the market. Just Sunday someone was talking about how they like their WB, but he said that it eats fletchings up. I don't know if that's prevalent with the WB, but I'd rather not find out first hand.

phattymcghee 08-18-2009 08:00 AM

I had a WB and switched to a QAD Ultra Pro HD this summer and I am shooting more accuratly now that I switched. Both are good rests, just depends on what you want.

mohunter82 08-18-2009 08:09 AM

with a WB yes you are gonna lose a couple FPS, but lets not get caught up in the speed debate again. if your are using feathers or a soft 4 inch vane yea the WB will be a little harsh on them. you just need to try both and see what happens.

AfterLife 08-18-2009 09:47 AM

Fall away - QAD makes the best one

Whisker Biscuit will tear up your fletchings and has drag which will slow your arrow down.

X2

Maybe it was a tuning issue but I get much better groups from my Drop away at longer distances. I just feel better shooting it

chris2216 08-18-2009 05:16 PM

I like my wb. I have not problems with it at all.

hockeyhead 08-18-2009 05:55 PM

WB can't go wrong with it ! had a drop-away , drew-released- arrow gone.:(

hardcorehunter 08-18-2009 06:26 PM

Limb driver drop away.

#1Predator 08-18-2009 07:21 PM

WB's are a great, but I don't care to have that big circle in the way of my view.I found that a drop away is better sight on "during and after the shot" and my groups got a little tighter too!:happy0001:
