Quiver Question
 

I have been bow hunting now for around 5 years and am starting to become picky on my equipment and picky on my skills to give me the best chance possible. I have a PSE bow and saw that my quiver that is attached to it has cracked. I am looking to buy a new quiver but I don't know if I want a quiver attached to my bow or not. What has been your expriance with quivers? Do you prefer them on or off when you shoot? Can you tell a difference on your bow when you have on/off? Any info would be helpfull. Thanks

I use an Alpine Soft Loc 3 Arrow. It stays on my bow constantly to include practice sessions and in the tree stand. The bow balances differently with the quiver so I leave it on so that I am used to it.

Some folks take off the quiver in the stand and it works for them.

I like a bohning lynx quiver it holds 3 arrows .

I always take off my quiver, I only use it when I'm walking to my blind. I like the feel better, plus I don't need more stuff waving around when I'm getting set for a shot.

Yup, same here...usually just put it on a hook or tree limb but think I will get a quiver bracket that screws in this year so it is sturdier if I need a second arrow.

I used to shoot with the quiver on all the time. It was always a hassle finding a good one that was quiet and didn't make the bow so unbalanced. This year I went to a 4 arrow quiver attached to my pack and a 3 arrow softloc on my bow. I practice shooting with the quiver on and off, just in case I get a shot while walking in to the stand or stalking, but once in the stand I take it off and hang it up. The 3 arrow version balances better and is much more compact than the larger 5 arrow version. Overall softlock quivers are one of the best overall values when it comes to price vs performance.

Practice how fast you can get a follow-up shot with your quiver on.....and with your quiver off.

MOST people don't shoot with the quiver on...because they "prefer" it. There's a solid reason why they do it.

Alpine Soft Loc is a solid choice. I also like the Octane line of quivers including the New Bantam Weight quiver. The quality construction and features are worth the extra price IMO. I usually leave my quiver on in a tree stand and take it off in a ground blind.

As far as follow up shots?:s3: I prefer to make the 1st shot count.:s4: My uncle always said: "As you believe so be it unto you"

I prefer to be a realist.

If you've always sent your arrow to the precise spot you were looking (or never had the spot you were looking move:s4:).....and have never required a follow up shot.....

PLEASE start a new thread and tell us all how you do it.
